Holy crap. My dad found our first island fishing trip photo album. As in, my first time living on an island for a week in the middle of the South China Sea just to fish. I think I was 13 when he took this picture (and wow I don’t even remember how awkward I was then) - that barracuda was 23 kg, first actual big fish I ever caught on my own.

Man, guys — I miss the last year of high school specifically. It is mostly embodied in this picture. Bunch of damned over achievers and childhood junk food. 

I was going through some photos in my iPhone and I came across this.

This is a picture of me mounted on the wall in the back of the main hall of my primary school, in which I teach drama part time. The title of the board is “Model Student”. I am circled in white. For some reason, I’ve become a bit of a legend in this school and everyone is under the impression that I was a Head Prefect. I was not.

My picture is going to be on that wall for EIGHT TWELVE MORE YEARS.

Guys, I was that annoying little overachiever you knew in grade school.

So I had to go through every single photo album in three storage boxes to find some photographs of a shop my parents used to run (The Fish Shop, SOGO) for a suit they’re filing against SOGO. As you can imagine, I went on quite a memory lane trip (especially since there were tons of pictures of me and my brothers as tiny, obedient [mostly] children). I then began to notice a theme, namely that I had always, always been a nerdy, if boisterously sociable, child. (My cake on my 8th birthday was a book, by the way).

How long have I been gaming? Ever since I figured out what Pokémon was and had enough money saved up to get a GameBoy (Color!) of my own.

Yes, I even gamed during Eid/Raya. All the signs were there.
